and females in spawning color can be quite different

Wow the female beanii is very nice looking when colored up.

In that full tank shot in a community, looks more parachromis lol. Multifasciatus /Friedrichsthalii.

Looks like a hybrid to me. Doesn't look 100% beani, and head shape is wrong for 100% managuense. My guess would be a beani/possibly Dempsey/ Motaguense/ Other parachromis. Will never know exactly what it is, but to me definitely some kind of hybrid.

He is definitely old and overweight. That might explain his lack of aggressiveness. I've heard motas are crazy. He is so relaxed.
