then we can say that fenestratus from Lake Catemaco are a different specie from the fenestratus in riverine systems
Thats why D Conkels call them Paratheraps cf fenestratus sp Catemaco, he suspects they may be a new species isolated in Lake Catemaco?

Someone suspecting it is a different species is different from it actually being a different species, hence the cf. If it was known for certain to be a different species it would have it's own scientific name, if it was known to just be a variant of fenestratus, it wouldn't have the cf.

I also have three types of fenestratus from Conkel and one type from Rapps.
The first pic you have is the original color, the second pic is a pie bald color....
I also have Catemeco's and they never change color...
The piebalds change color daily and the regulars get more intense blues/reds.
But on a side not.....one of my regulars also turned pie bald after a while..
must of had some piebald genes in it or it was interbred...still a
nice fish...Rapps fish on the other hand have a red head with blue body, and seem more aggressive..
where as Conkels have a blue head....They all look great....

O nome deste peixe é "piebald Fenestratus" existe uma versão rosa do peixe também "pink fenestratus"
Eu acho que é uma variante que ocorre naturalmente. seu peixe é muito bonito :)
