I picked up this obscure fish at an LFS.

I think it's Herichtys Deppi.

This is it when I just introduced it into the tank.

What do you think?

Thanks! It is about 4" long. When it is not trying to hide it's color tends to be a yellow green color with a few black blotches near the tail fin.

I just picked it up today but it tends to hide a lot.

What are the differences? I thought, Deppi has more red on the face and Turqouise has less red on its face and more turqouise as a opposed to a green color on the rest of it's body.

My guess is deppi, purely based on my research on them in the past. Wish I could stumble upon one at my LFS.

It's not H. sp. Turquoise. Red connects too much and there's too much red in the fins. H. sp. turquoise has small striations. Looks like H. deppi to me. Here's my H. sp. Turquoise to show you the difference.

That's what I was thinking too. But I'm not an expert.

Thanks for the pics. I think they make it clear that it is not Turqouise, although I'd really like to own one too.

The fish is stressed and the photos aren't great. Both H. deppi and H. sp. "turquoise" have quite a bit of phenotypic variability. I don't feel that you could conclusively identify the fish between H. deppi or H. sp "turquoise" based off the photos, hence why I said it could be either.
