Picked this guy up today while I wait for my new 90G to cycle. He was the largest in a group of 20, and very aggressive towards it's tank mates. A kid that worked at the specialty shop said they just arrived and he wasn't sure what they were. Any ideas? Help is greatly appreciated.

it's a baby red devil or Midas.

It's gonna become orange later.

And grow big like this.

I thought the same thing at first too, but what was interesting is that all of the fish (20+ of them) had these same exact markings (they ranged in size from 1.5" to 2.5"). The fish in the pic above is about 2.75". Every time I've seen a group of juvenile RD's or Midas for sale, there is quite a variety in the colors (some are fading, some are still barred, and some are orange). Although you're probably right, I'm anxious to see what colors he/she starts to exhibit as it matures.

Looks very similar to my Midas, when I first got her . . .

She now looks like this . . .
