thanx all for inputs...i got them from a reputable farm in my place. :)

If enough people are interested would you help us set up a group buy of these?

I've been after an albino N. notopterus for a looooooong time now. Haven't seen even a regular one in the states since 1997? 1998? Knew one seller that could get regular ones a few years back but no albinos.

Not 100% sure on the color type of yours, could be gold..but I say albino.

They're also known as featherbacks, bronze feaherbacks, gray featherbacks, black featherbacks etc, can't think of anymore common names for them but I'm sure there are more I haven't listed.

would love to help but i don't think i know how...here's for starters. dunno if i'm allowed to do this but perhaps you can e-mail the said farm/retailer: Qian Hu Corporation Limited at www.qianhu.com.
hope this helps a little, pardon my incompetency. :(

Albino Notopterus notopterus, the head shape is not like of any sort of clown knife I'm familiar with..no matter the color. Where did you say you got this fish? Does he have more? Do they ship? Seriously interested in obtaining some..

p.s. just saw that you said they were listed as albino black knife fish. N. notopterus is almost always listed that way on stocklist's. Learned that from a seller/importer that sold them.
Your confusing the OP even more. It's NOT albino Notopterus notopterus and notopterus notopterus do not grow to 24". It's a juvenile albino gold clown knife aka chitala ornata. Btw all notopteridae are known as featherbacks or old world knifefish.

Sorry to cause confusion, apologies to the op, I really didn't think the head shape was right for a clown, nor the eyes. However if I am wrong then I stand corrected.

It's still a juvenile and that's why the headshape is not yet sloping. Even still, juvenile notopterus notopterus have much rounded head and shorter snout and smaller mouth. Juvenile chitala ornata have slightly longer snout and slightly triagular head. The forehead start to slop down as the fish grows.
