It's not a brownbanded bamboo shark to me, in fact the dorsal fin posterior edges are not concave. Probably it is a C. griseum or a C. arabicum, the picture is so vague to determine the correct species.

Zoodiver was definitely correct about this one - it's a punctatum. The dorsal fins are just barely concave more near the top even though it's hard to see. Griseum would have more rounded dorsal fins. Arabicum would not have the darker stripes, which BTW are slowly becoming more visible.

I don't see any concave dorsal fin. Here is the concave dorsal fin of my male C. puncatum...

Like you said, it is hard to tell from the pics, but the dorsal is just barely concave near the top. Not quite as pronounced as your shark, but it is concave. I know for sure it is not either of the two species you said, so I'm sticking with the brownbanded. If you have any other suggestions, feel free to say so. Not every shark is exactly the same as the next though.

Sorry, but that dorsal is not concave, even near the top. I have kept dozen C. punctatum in my life and I have seen hundreds of them from importers and in their natural habitat... sorry but none had that fins.
You say that "Not every shark is exactly the same as the next", but there are some scientific parameters that permit us to identify a species from another and C. punctatum has not the dorsal fins "just barely concave" (even if I don's see any barely concave dorsal in that specimen, which has convex dorsals, and convex is a geometric parameter that cannot admit opinions, unfortunately ;-)

Alright take it easy. :chillpill: Can't you see I'm just trying to convince myself this is a punctatum so I don't go insane? :screwy: I realize the fins aren't close to what they should look like but what else could it be? I believe it most closely resembles a punctatum and I haven't seen a better match yet so I don't have many options....
