I was at the fishshop this lunchtime and saw what was labeled as 'Indian Blue Shark' I got back to work and thought I would look it up... but found nothing on the net. Anyone have any idea? I will try get a pic asap.

I am pretty sure it is actually a kind of catfish. They are currently about 2" and are a plain dark blueish, hint of purple colour all over. I think I saw four whiskers and it had a shape similar to something like a synodontis but a slightly flatter head. It was in the freshwater section.

Right I finally took a picture. What do you think?

I spoke to another person at the fish shop and he tried to look it up in a book. He thinks it is a Cetopsis. However the pictures I have seen do not look like this one and tey are from the American regeons while this is Asian.
I think it could be from the Erethistidae, Glyptothorax, Akysidae or Sisoridae.
Looks like a Akysis galeatus, or Glyptothorax cavia Akysis galeatus Akysis galeatus Akysis galeatus

I think we have a winner. Well done I think you have found who he is!
Thanks for the info on the species types, I know very little about it for cats.

Now my only issue.. 59" SL? eeek no wonder the guy was confused when the book said 6". I don't think even my 5' tank could hold this guy.

Now I can finally do my research
