I bought this dude from Petsmart last week. I asked for 2 Firemouths and I stupidly didnt look at them until I got home. the other one is 100% positive a firemouth, but this one has me concerned. This one is about 3x the size of the other one and has no red on the mouth or belly. I looked online, maybe its just a female? But to me it almost looks like a juvey Jack. Let me know, and also if you can sex it (probably too young).

SHOOT!!! I knew it. Oh Well, Jacky Boy needs a girl anyway, how big should I let her get before I try to put her in with my male Jack thats about 8"? and is it definately a female?
 
That's a female JD. You can add her now if you like.
 
you dont think the size difference will make him shred her? she's about 3"
 
I'd wait until she gets some size on her, maybe 5" at least . . .
 
You can always test the waters. My 5.5 jd accepted a 3" female after he chased her for an hour. If you do decide to put her in with him, make sure there are plenty of hiding places small enough that only she can get into.
