Help identifying this cichlid

I was in the LFS the other day and someone had traded in what looked like there entire cichlid tank. The fish was in the tank w/ a red devil and a breeding pair of convicts. They where just hammering him. He's very beaten up, so they gave him to me. I thought I would try and rehab him. Any ideas as to what he is. Thanks

any in tank pics? extremely hard to tell.
 
Yeah i know its a bad pic. I've put it in a 30 and seems to be doing ok. Swimming around a good bit but still shy. I havn't seen any eating yet, hopefully though in the next few days it will. I was suprised it made the trip home alive!
 
Kind of looks like a flowerhorn. You can almost see it's flower line, but it's hard to tell with that photo.

What colors does he have regularly?

That looks like my dead Hyspelecara Coryphaenoides in that position.. But no way to tell Fgrom the pic ;)
 
looks like a red devil to me. Good luck with the rehab.
