I dont think it was your fault and I think the kid is being a pain in the #$#%, in my opinon.

If the fish was healthy and in your mind it was, then it is not your fault.

As nasty as anchor worm can be.. I'de treat just for peace of mind. But I wouldn't take the blame either. You where unaware ( if your fish do have it) and he shoulda QT'd the fish beforehand. and even then, fish are prone to disease/ect. stress brings anything hidden to the forefront. It's apart of fishkeeping.

You should tell him how important it is to quarantine fish before putting into your main tank

Exactly, it's their fault. Everyone should quarantine any fish before introducing it to their tank..........
