Yeah. I thought that would be best since they are reported to be found in true brackish conditions. However, some of the sites I have found refer to landlocked eels in pure freshwater living a long time and growing larger than those who return to sea to breed. That could mean this guy may live happily in somewhat hard water with just a little marine salt, or even somewhat hard water with almost no salt. I suspect that rice paddies are not saline at all. Is that the case?
Well, so much for that. The wife said seeing the eel made her as sick to her stomach as repetitive pop music makes mine. Then, to seal the deal, she offered to help me buy a Scarlet Pleco. I'll miss the awesome little guy. I really wanted to keep him, but marriage is marriage.
