Hi, I recently bought a geophagus labelled as Altofrons but now it's settled I'm not soo sure. They are a juvenile so it's hard to tell - can anyone here help identify?

If not an altifrons, will it get as big, have the long flowing fins or be as colourful? Trying to work out if I need to return in which case.

Thanks ks, Vuc1000052099.jpg

Here a Geo altifrons I had to compare.

It was about 12¨TL, as they grow, the mid body spot shrinks, as the caudall fin spots get bolder.
It is one of the altifrons complex, but before you can be sure, you´ll need to let it mature into adult colors.
Below is a key of what to look for, to help IDing

Thats a great pic - it was the vertical stripes that threw me - never seen them on any altifrons pic I've seen. Is that something that will also disappear with age do you think?
