Help! Instant Ocean Salt!

[Columbian Shark Catfish]

So Last week I bought a bag of Instant Ocean salt. First time I added salt to the water changes, it was fine. So I twisted it and but a rubber band around it and now I open it a week later and it's almost rock hard.
I can still get the salt, it just is harder to.

Is this normal? I'm a beginner to brackish tanks and I don't know if I should still use it.

Yes, salt will harden if air can get to it. And it's still ok to use.

I've used it like that too over the years with no issues

Ya don't let any water get into the salt otherwise that will happen.

No problems could also happen with high humidity.

salt will absorb moisture from the air. it will do this if there is any moisture. either roll the top of the bag and tape it up, or get an airtight bucket and put the bag in there. thats what i do.

I've never had a problem with it and i kept it under the tank. Good to know lol

Just always be sure to use your hydrometer.
