ok my RTCxTSN ive had for 2 months and hes grown from 2 inches to about 7, and tonight i noticed he was barely moving and around the bottom of his gills to his stomach looks kinda grey. his belly was a little sunken in and so i fed him 2 small scallops, which he slowly took only after i pushed them into his wiskers. i moved him a little so i could see his side and i think i saw one of his poops (maybe his?) and it was like ash grey. he eats shrimp, cichlid sticks, feeders, and tilapia and scallops. is this a sign of parasites? what can i use that wont hurt him or small (2.5-4") p.bass? thanks guys! ps did a WC already but he didnt cheer up

I have seen parasites before on my fish when i was beginner. I don't use any medication at all. Have u been using food that u fished out of the water or bugs outside or anything wild? That might be the cause. And are the RTC and TSC the only fish in ur tnk or are there more fish that dnt seem to be effected. Also the cats always stay on the bottom. That is there natural tendency. Pic would help a lot. Pm me so we can go in greater depth.

:Wtf: parasite attack!!!!

Is the bass and the catfish the only fish in the tank? Gray is a (I guess a natural color) when eating shrimp, and scallops. RTC's and TSN's cats will go in to a "sulking" stage. Pretty much like oscars.

How long has this been happening? If it just happened today, I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep the stress level to a minimal. As for the color under the gills and the abdomen, it's natural as well. Well at lease that's what happen to my old RTC.

ya mine is young and has bright colors... they are just 3 juvie p.bass and the rtc in a 40 breeder until i get my big tank next month. he usually is all over the place and will always find raw fish quickly. ill try to get a pic of the grey, i swear he didnt look like this when i fed him in the AM. maybe im paranoid
