If the parasite is external, a salt bath may help. And salt concentration may be determined by what the parasite is.
If the parasite is internal (intestinal, or under the skin) it probably won't.
If it is viral (a disease like Lymph) a salt bath may be ineffective, and the immune system must do the work.
If it is bacterial, you will need an full spectrum antibiotic, but salt may help if the infection is external.
The real question to answer is "what is the problem?"
Sometimes the stress of treatment, from a salt bath, and capture is worse than doing nothing, other than extra water changes.
I consider a 50% water change every 2 weeks, too few
