For some reason when the light is ON the King Kong parrot looks pale or has light orange color. In the morning when the light is OFF i could see he has a bright red or orange color to him, is the light stressing out the KKP? please help me Im trying to keep his color orange or red!

It happens, some fish will look duller with brighter lights. Some will look much more vibrant...it all varies. If you want the true color, let it have a little natural sun light without any bulb lighting and I can almost guarantee you its 2X more vibrant. :D

The light is reflecting off the substrate/decor dulling his colors. Get a nice vibrant background and lighter substrate, like white sand.

i dont think i will able to change my gravel anymore.. can i change my backround to light ocean blue? i was going to get a even brighter light for plant growth :(

Mine does the same thing all of a sudden. When I place them in a clear tank with no background, they turned bright red. I do not use any substrate in either tank.

Check your water parameter. They like more basic water.
