In addition to the other advice, keep the tank dark, add extra areation, and provide some places for the wounded pleco to stay secure and hidden (clay pot, pvc pipes).
Melafix is usually for torn fins; you may want to look in to it [Melafix] for your pleco's condition.

It grew back the beautiful lines and even looking better. Got fatter than the aggressor in the other bigger tank.

Feeding hikari massivore helps to beef them up. Both lines became more defined and nice.
