I woke up this morning and Norm was laying on his side. I reached in and picked him up and carried himacroos the tank. he came to and strted swimming around....right in to the opposite corner. I hand fed him a piece of krill. He chewed on it for a bit then spit it out. My parameters are...
temp-80'
amm-0
nitrates-0
nitrites-0
pH-6.6
I recently moved him into this tank where my parrots were. I swapped them out. Both 75g's just differnet rooms. I cant figure it out. I dont think he's gonna make it much longer.

Nitrates are maybe .01, if that. His poop is his normal doberman size poop. I put his mirror in just now and he's starting to perk up with the mirror. The water is fine. There is something with him. I am trying to find out if anyone has had similar experiences with FH's or hybrids in general. He is healthy as a horse and has been since I got him.

Really sorry to hear that.

It might just be his "time". From what one can gather hybrids just don't live as long. Each one will be unique and individual. Some will have a combination of genes which could be lethal earlier in life than others.

I really hope it is not that though, and that he pulls through !

My FH just got over a bad case of internal parasites. I noticed some white poop and then he stopped swimming or eating. He even started to lose color. I did a 50% water change and treated the water with API general cure twice (it listed internal parasites as something it treated).

It was a scary week, but everything seems to back to normal.

What has his poop been like? Aside from the krill has he been eating lately? How do you have 0 Nitrate?

Planted tank.

@OP, He's about 2 years old right? With Flowerhorns nowadays, most of them only live 2 years so maybe its his time to go but keep waiting for some more responses.

I know that but I didn't think the tank was planted.

There are quite a few plants in the tank. I decided to put a partition in and add a couple of Africans on the other side. I am going to create some hiding spots and try to add them into general population. We'll see if he needs a little distraction. I am afraid he's become to dependant on the mirror. When I remove it, he just pouts. This time he pouted himself sideways on the bottom. I honestly, think it's some sort of depression. You know how you know your fish tank...I really think I know that is what it is.
