Not a juvenile curupira. They can have a light and dark phase esp the ones from Guyana. But this fish isn’t it.

Not only that the pics you posted the jawline is a V from what I see.

it’s a mala. The curu have a rounder snout. Get an exchange or your money back. Mala much more common, cheaper, and in my experience much more aggressive...but then again both Fish are pretty aggressive

My curu was more territorial than any mala I've ever had.. but still wasn't bad. Wolvesnarent that bad ime just that they can do damage easily.
