I am looking to get my first stingray for my 125 gallon freshwater tank. I have a few criteria I need met though...

-I would like to stay at, or below, $150.
-It can't get too large, as I would like to house it in my 72x18 for life.

And what are some tank mates I can put with your suggestion?

I have black tahitian moon sand and everything in my tank is smooth.

Thanks guys!

OMG.....

ok....not gonna get mad...not gonna get mad....

a 125 will not house any ray for life... read the stickies about stingrays, and how big they get... their bioload, and size including size will NOT be ok in a 125 for life

Sorry but we get this same post from all pple wanting to get into rays, when all they need to do is READ READ READ the stickies... take 10mins and research and you will find ur answers

ya what he said lol. there is some good info on the stickys. all the info u need, takes 5 min. but you will need a larger tank to keep any ray for life in that tank. sorry. an for 150 or less u prob would be able to get a motoro and they get huge. maybe a hystrix as there one of the smaller rays, but still to big for u. save up an get a bigger tank. or build an indoor pnd

Still might not be big enough for some motoro for life? I've seen some old motoros that stayed around 18" though, usually males.
