I got 9 from COTA in October 2018. They were about 2-3 inches. 3 Regani, 3 Bifa, and 3 melanarum. I estimate they are 5-7 inches now. I also have about 24 tiger barbs. All fish get along pretty well. The barbs and the Vieja never interact. The Vieja have a small amount of aggression among like species. All of the Vieja are very skittish. I have a 180 gallon 6 ft tank. I thought that I would have had some losses by now, that would have prevented me from having to thin the numbers, but that didn’t happen. I believe I have 2 male and 1 female Regani.

Beautiful fish. Tough choice. I'm partial to Bifas personally. They still have a lot of growing to do and you may end up with only one pair in the 180. Good luck with them.

Personally I would say, if it ain't broken don't fix it, for now. I would probably let the fish decide which need to go, in case removing some randomly caused the others to turn on each other. This is, unless you are having trouble keeping up with the bioload. There are things you could add, like pothos grow boxes, etc. to help with filtration and nitrates. But if this wasn't enough or not plausible, I would probably get rid of any extra males first, or maybe get rid of all the females, as a breeding pair of any of these species could probably take over the whole tank

I would rehome the females. Looks like a female mel in pic#2, but that's all I'm certain of. Regani are tough to sex visually b/c they're such slow growers(or were for me at least).
