Depends on stocking. But if space is an issue, then go with what you can.

although a 24 would be nicer, and the poll is which would I rather have, unless you need the extra 6 inches for your stocking list, a good deal is a good deal, thats how id judge it.

^^^ i agree

The way I see it is: If its in the living room or somewhere where its going to take up space that you are going to need, then go with the smaller 18" so as it doesn't protrude too much out from the wall. If space is not an issue, and say its going to go in a fish room, then go with the larger one. However, realistically it comes down to what you are going to stock in the tank. Just something to keep in mind.

Well I voted for both. I need a 150 or 135 gallon 72" x 18" with internal overflows for the bedroom, wereas I'm also looking for a 48" x 24" 150 or 120 gallon for the fish room in the basement.:)

Beside arrowana and pacus, what type of fish would require a 24" wide tank?

P-bass, dovii, probably clown knives could be kept in a 24" tank. Arowana, pacu, stingrays will all outgrow a 24" tank.
