Help Me Decide? 18" wide tank or 24" wide tank

any big cichlid would be happier in a 24 inch deep tank. Only the real monsters really need it though. I think a 6x1.5 125 is better than a 4x2 120 though, since any fish that is too big for a 125 is too big for a 4 foot tank.

24" is better, but if you got a great deal on an 18"...go for the 18"

any fish that grows longer then roughly 16 inches would really need the extra room, any fish in general would appreciate the extra room regardless.....If the deal on the 18 inche tank is that good, go for it, it would still be a very nice tank.

I just went through the same thing

I chose the 150 gallon for 100 dollars over the 180 gallon for 450 dollars

The 150 was a friends that I help him set up I know it was barely even used

the 180 was new

get the 24" but if the 18" is a much better deal then get the 18"...BTW what are you planning on stocking this tank with?

id say get the 24 since it gives your more option in stocking i know most fish would be happy with an 18 but down the road a 24 would give you more options if things change

Assuming tank length is the same, you have the room and your structure can support the extra weight of water volume, I'd go w/ the 24" wide tank.
