Help me decide on a wet pet!

If it were my tank I'd go Flowerhorn for a single species or one or a pair of Oscars. Although Oscars are common, they do have great personality and are gorgeous! Mine will almost jump out of the tank to grab a worm out of my husbands hand!!

An Oscar is extremely hard to beat when it comes to cases like this.

Im looking for a single beautiful specimen to go in my 80 gal. I want to go as large as I can. With that in mind, I have been thinking along the lines of a true red terror (buy 6 juvies from Rapps and keep the best one), or a flowerhorn because I like the thickness and color. I am trying to stay away from the common jag, rd, oscar. Are there any suggestions that I may not have though of yet???

I'm not a big fan of the one fish only tank, but I have often though of getting another Texas cichlid to keep by itself

thanks for all the great replies people! Yeah definitely dont want an oscar. I had a 10" male gt that was an amazing fish, so I want to go with something a little different. I dont have to have a cichlid, but they are the nicest looking group of fish in my opinion. I really dont have any preferences, just looking for something with striking colors that can max out the space in the tank. I appreciate all the suggestions, the top condender at the moment sonds like a female rt, but man I cant decide. I will continue my search, and let you all know what I decide on!

haha what about a Cuban purty rare, and excellent colors, and i believe Rapps has some right now.

my second choice would be a FH. period! for color and personality, they cannot be beat...
