Help me ID my dog?

mastiff definitely.

could have some Boer Boel blood in it, or Presa Canario.

mastiff/terrier(pit maybe). if so it would be considered a "bandog" which is a non-offical breed excellent in boar hunting and guarding

He's def. a "guard" dog. It's really weird, there are just certain people he doesn't like. You can tell because he'll follow them around and if they move too suddenly or get too loud he can become aggressive. Other than that he's a sweetheart and he's always great with kids.

That doesn't sound like the king of dog I would have around children...

It's definitely a pit mixture of some sort. If you really want to know: http://www.dog-dna.com/

That, I beg to differ, does not exist.

it is all a question of responsible ownership and education ( of both the owner and the dog )

So you're telling me that this new dog that "can become aggressive" is something you would leave with your children? I'm not against any breed of dog but for a strange dog to enter your household and exhibit behavior of that kind would not be around my children for a long while.
