I bought this as a Red Texas. It looks a lot a like a FH to me. Some people say red texans are nothing but types of flowerhorns anyways so I really don't know what this one is or how to classify him as.
He's dark red and shows some blue speckles if observed at naked eye. He's super aggressive. You know that when u gotta put some red devils as dither fish you have one mean mofo.
He chases them all day but I learnt with time that Red devils are the hardest cichlid to chase. They are able to make the sharpest turns and are very intelligent when it comes to hiding and avoiding other aggressive fish.
Anyways what are yalls thoughts on this fish? "Btw the red fish on the left is from the same batch but looks like a female. They do hang out together so I'm guessing they're pairing up."

It's a Kamfa Flowerhorn not red Texas! U probably bought it at petsmart right?? Nice looking 1 too, grow him out.

I don't know if you have experience with breeding FH's but do you think I'd get a red texas if I bred this male with a blue texas female?

FHs are a mix of different type of fish (man made, won't find them in the wild) some say that's why they are so aggressive. so if you try & cross your FH w/ a blue texas no telling what what kind of offspring you'll get. i have one almost like yours also bought at Petsmart & he is the most aggressive in my 220g community tank. i have an arowana, 2 jack dempsies, 2 red oscars, jaguar cichlid & gold sevrum. my FH is the smallest & he bullies the oscars & the jag, he doesn't mess w/ my aro or the jds too much. picked up a female from lfs to hope they pair up.
