I purchased this fish as a turquoise severum i was under the impression that it just hasnt gotten its color yet. However, I went back to the local fish store and the severums they have there now are very obviously severums. Now looking at this fish more closely it looks similar to a convict. The long fins it has are slightly spotted and dont look like a typical convict. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks thats what i thought the consensus would be, its just the tail fins that are throwing me off, maybe this is a better picture.20170122_154227.jpg 20170122_154216.jpg

Yup convict. Might want to let the lfs know you got gyped. Convicts are usually much cheaper than severum.

Thanks, thats what i was thinking. Appreciate it.
Guess that frees up some tank space as i was planning for a large fish.. 75g, thinking maybe a texas cichlid.

most definitely a Convict.....go ask for your money back lol

Turquoise Severum = $20
Convict = $2

yeah I would not want to pay severum prices for a convict. If its any consultation you got a nice looking convict.

Convict's are much cooler. Get another convict, get a Sajica, Carpintis would be cool. Or a couple of those "Deppi" that are going around -- those look sick.

Or a buch a Regani. Take forever to grow up, but when they do, they look awesome.
