Help me identify this fish please!!

I bought this guy and he was labeled as a carpintis cichlid. He looks nothing like any pictures I have seen of one. Could somebody help me identify him please?

Tbh only thing I can say is that the specie is not that aggressive so hopefully it will be ok.

They are however, aggressive with their own kind, other Geophagines.

Would be too aggressive for your aquarium.

Again I agree with tlindsey, H carpintus are on a much higher aggression scale than any of your other fish.
And in the end would probably assassinate them all
I kept the one in the photo with only a female, in a 6 ft tank, it started with more fish, but they eliminated all others.

Thanks he is the only fish that sits still enough for pictures
