I came across this fish. It is a Xback on paper with matching chip number. It is about 9". The pearl on the body is stronger than of RTG. The pearl has reach up to HALF of the 5th row only. There is no pearl on the back at this moment. Will this fish ever develop pearl on it's back? any one had experience with Juvi Xback like this ? It is a very questionable Xback. Any other tips to help me determine if it is Xback or not would be greatly appreciate. Thank you

Awesome dude. Looks like a BBXB from the shine. Its only 9" right now, I'm not sure how long it takes for the back to cross.

What it says on the certificate is not always what you get. HBRTG and Xbacks can look similar when they are young. What some farms do is keep the Xbacks in white fibre tanks to keep the shine and base nice and light until they mature. Time will tell if you get Xback or not. If you get any 6th level shine then be content that you have a xback. If the shine doesn't cross on the 6th level of scales at all, then it's not a Xback. I am currently going through the same thing with a RTG, HBRTG. My HBRTG looks like an average RTG, while my RTG looks like a very nice HBRTG. I informed the farm about this, and they were more than willing to help me out if I lived in Singapore, but where I live ownership of arowanas is taboo. My two are about 16 months old and around 15".

yeh looks XB but still young to tell

i came across alot of RTG and must say this. buying an RTG is more easy than buying other HBRTGand XBACK because RTG is always RTG and only can get better. In another hand, buying HBRTG and XBACK is so nervous. I have seen many of my RTG look like HBRTG and actually grown up very close to HBRTG.

Your water quality looks horrible.. If you want that tail to grow back properly I suggest you start doing some water changes and keep your water prestine.
