the back wall is painted yellowish. Tested the water earlier, it fine but will do WC tmrw anyway. help me out guys, get the fishes i just posted so i can keep the water even better. how do distinguish a Xback with a good HBRTG?

basically a HBRTG is also a RTG. There is never a same standard thing about HBRTG with a XB. If so then why people are paying so much for a XB and why not a HBRTG instead.;)

As for your questionable fish. Why so secretive about which farm it came from? Why not just pop this question back to the farm where it came from.

As for the cert and tag, any fish also can be retagged with a dead fish's tag if one intend to be dishonest about it.

Just sharing my thought.

OK the farm of my fish is CV. Maju Aquarium. ANy one heard of this farm and what is the quality of this farm. Thanks

maju is an indonesian farm, and like most indo farms they are know for reds not xbs.

most hbrtg are just rtg crossed with lower grade xbs, if your not sure if it is a xb or not, assume that its a hybrid and take that into account when pricing the fish. IMHO at 9" it should be showing some most of its "features" already. if they are missing or not evident yet, chances are the fish won't be high grade.

I agree, Maju is more famous for its Reds than its XB's (see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJSqBA6S540 )

Maju currently has XB`s in stock. Look at photos of recent arrivals:
http://www.arowanaclub.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=2164

Look at photos of XB stock ready to ship (arriving in a few weeks):
http://www.dragonfish.ca/maju_xb's_2010.htm

The XB`s are of the BBXB variety, as you can see from the photos in the above links. You can debate the relative presence of pearls, shine level, core scale colour, the scale rims, body shape etc. In the end, these look like decent or `good` quality XB's to me (though not in same league as high end Singapore farms, no argument there! :)

Note: Asian arowana are not available for sale to the USA due to the illegality of owning Asian arowana in the USA. These fish may only be sold and exported to countries where it is legal to own Asian arowana.

Sure hope they turn out alright since I ordered two! Let me know about the SR.

i saw the red. They are not bad. They are around 12-13". Thank you for the link. My XB show exactly the same quality of shine intensity and only shine up to 5th row. It just got it tail cut off for now. I am now more confident that it is a Xback. I changed the water and reduced the food for other fishes in the tank. The fish is getting better. Thus i agreed with you. It is not top notch quality like those from Sing. But i am happy with it. Let hope it turns out nice. BTW ARo are everywhere, as long as you have the $$$$ and got connection lol. Thank you all.
