Yeah, you should be able to test quite a few times with the kit. I do not personally keep FH, neat fish though and good luck. just remember to up the water changes till you can find out where you are. The chart that it comes with with tell you what levels you should look to be achieving.

Lols also in the mean time what should I do to help me FH? please help.

lol. all of the above and make sure not to over feed the little guy. that will mess up you water params if there is a ton of excess food that is just decaying in the tank. :)

Should never feed it any feeders at all. Not even for a treat or whatsoever. This is something that I learned that can trigger this kind of issue for your FH. The only thing that you should be feeding your FH as a treat is frozen krills/blood worms or market prawns. For my own preference, I try to avoid any freeze dried as possible. Only because freeze dried tends to soak up and expand out later. Try it, leave the freeze dried in a bowl of water for a day. It will expand almost twice its size. Also can carry air into your FH, so if not fed properly than your fish can be bloated since fish cannot burp. There are times that when a fish gets a taste of certain food, they will spit the others out like what you experience. This will make them stubborn if you keep at it. And I usually hate it when they spit it out and eat it back later because a lot of the nutrients from the pellets has been absorbed. I usually do my starving process at this point.
To really solve this issue, do a major water change with warm aged water that has been aerated for 24 hours. Check your water parameters afterward and keep the temp in the low 80's. Your fish would be alright.

my glorious flowerhorn passed away afer eating a feeder and i had had this feeder quarantined for atleast a month and fed it only high quality food
he ate it and never ate again
poor guy
thats why my remaining feeders are pets now
i feed them earthworms instead
more of a natural food
you may also add 1 tablespoon of salt per 10 gallons and turn up the temp to about 82f and keep up with the water changes

dam thats sad to hear man... and ill stop feeding it feeders.... and beside freeze dried blood worms what esle could i use? My pellets is Hikari Cichlid Sinker pelllets....

The tests you need is ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and ph. Those are the main ones you need right now. Get the liquid, dips sticks are not really accurate.
