help me out with a decision

I would go with the reds, i would much rather have a pack of p's than one black...either way though i think you will enjoy them

I have 5 reds in a 125 gallon. I was really into them at first, but they turned out to be kinda boring. They are skittish, light sensitive fish that don't cruise the tank. I did a number of thinsg that made them more comfortable, but in the end I get more satisfaction out of watching my pacus and cichlids in my 180 gallon. These fish aren't skittish and cruise the tank.

thats sweet to have 2 ginormous tanks...i just got a 125 but it is going to be the replacement for my 90 that broke. its a community tank but i personally get more enjoyment out of watching the more skiddish fish because they are the ones that you dont get to see most often, and i like how they get used to my big fat face staring at them...hehe

As a Red Ps owner. I'd suggest sticking with the reds. They eventualy wont be as skidish in the right environment. As everybody else said, Ditch the 20 Gal and go bigger.. i hace 6 Ps in a 90 gallon. They have all survived. 1 yr and half old, healhty and calming to watch them swim around and show off their colors

I have had rbp's for about a year and a half how big are urs? i just successfuly added 3 more and am looking for advice on tank size. i duno if i should go 150g or a 180g or even 220g? what do u think? im also living in an appartment so i might be bying a house this winter so i might guy a 120g till i buy the house.couple weeks before i move in ill set up the big tank then transport them to their home 4 life. im gonna go through so many tanks with my rbp's. Anyone know what tank size u should have 4 a black p? I eventually plan on getting a black so if i buy a 120g and a Black can stay in a 120g 4 life it would be wicked, i can have my large rbp tank and my tank 4 my black.

Listen man i went through the same decision making process my whole piranha career. I started with a 55 gallon rbp tank then when i discovered the blacks i bought a 65 gallon to accompany the reds once my black started murdering the others. so with two tanks, a 55 and a 65 i said hell with it and went to a 150. I stayed there for two years or so until it sprung a leak and i had to tear it down to repair it. so then i had a 55, a 65, and a 150 all up and running. after i got the 150 re-silliconed i tore down the 55 sold it and went with the 65 black tank and the 150 rbp tank. But the 150 always seemed to look smaller as time went on and i got more comfortable with the up-keep. So just this last year i also bought my own home and decided to go all the way!!! I decided on the 350 gallon long. This motherFin tank is Bad Ass and i absolutly have no regrets on going as big as i could. So my advise Just wait it out and GO BIG when you can!! Trust me people will marvel!! If not you might always regret not going big time. it will be easier down the road if you wanna add fish or what have you but i promise that you will not regret going with the bigger tank, just be prepaired for the work that a biger tank has in store.
