Help me pick a Pleco?

I don't see a problem keeping either L270's or L075's in your tank. Neither will be easy to breed from what I have read. But both seem possible. I don't know how available either is because I haven't kept either one. If that is what you want then get them if you can. Others are suggesting other options, all of which are good ones, but it comes down to what YOU want. Honestly if you are looking to start breeding plecos I would start with bn's. Either common or if you look on aquabid there are dozens of different ancistrus species, some of which are just as amazing as psudas and hypans IMO. Just my 2 cents. Good luck and keep us updated with pics. And just in case you didn't know, when it comes to info on pleco's, breeding or otherwise, planetcatfish is basicly the bible.

hypans like the L270s tend to thrive in warmer temps in 80s whilst torpedo barbs thrives in the cooler temps below 80 from 70-78 is their ideal condtions. To try to breed hypans and to have torpedo barbs is kinda asking for trouble.

Instead of trying to "breed plecos" why not do catfish instead? there are so many cool catfish out there that would stay small and wouldn't be trouble for the torpedo barbs or to the plants/driftwood like many other pleco species.

Its given many species will eat plants or is too cool for them on top of my head.
