I would say, it depends, do you have kids? Will the dog have a 'job' ? Whether it be running every day, doing scent work, hunting - anything to work the brain and body.
Corgies and kids don't usually do too well, a corgie's instinct is to herd, kids running around make great cows, they nip and bite at the heels of a cow, the same nip can break skin and scare the daylights out of a kid.
They are great dogs, but are wayyyy too smart for their own good and aren't the type that you can leave at home for 6+ hours while you're at work.
Even if they are raised to be the perfect dog, their chase/herd instinct is much stronger than their want to please you.
