Help me pick and match a new pump !!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have a dc12000 on my 125. The thing is they are variable speed so you don't have to valve them down. I run mine at half speed, any more the sump and overflows can't handle it.

What's your drain setup? I have a perfecto with 2x 1" drains and 2x 1" returns. I feel like they would be overwhelmed.

Same thing, it's a marineland/perfecto 125 with 2 1" drain/returns. i wish I had the time/money to change it to a herbie and open 55g sump and I could probably run the the pump at full. It's adjustable has six settings so you can adjust it if it's overwhelming your drains.

Well it looks like I will get the 12000 then!

I have a two one inch drains as well on my setup .... If those 9000/12000 pumps only run less then full throttle do they use less wattage then what they are rated for ???

Should I maybe just get the 9000 then or grab a 12000 for my setup ?
