Help me plan...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would say 30"-36" is a reasonable expectation in captivity. I don't think a 240 would be ideal, but it would be sufficient at that size. Anything larger would definitely be more comfortable in something larger.

With silver aros you can go with a wide variety of tankmates. I have my silvers with Red bay snooks, misc catfish and loaches. My black aro is housed with discus and some loaches. As you may have already read, your 180g is eventually gonna be to small, but would be a decent size for quite a few years. If you plan to eventually upgrade to at least a 300g wide(96" x 30" x 24") I would definetly recommend getting an aro they are great fish.

I have three 4" elcipse catfish and a 5" four-lined pimelodus.

Thanks.

Yep, that is what I have, they are active during feeding time and after lights out. They were more active when they weren't in the tank with the aros though.
