Help me please!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That can help as it will give you the chance to get the bottom spotless before adding the sand, and as long as you monitor food levels and keep the tank clean going forward they should die off.

As stated removing the substrate will reduce their numbers, not eliminate them. The only way you can get rid of them is to empty the tank, and either replace the substrate or bleach the substrate and the tank. Otherwise, you will always have them. They are harmless, they harm nothing so theres no need to freak out.

Edit: I wanted to add that it you were to move your canister filters or other items from this tank to another tank you will be transferring the planaria to the other tank. You can also transfer the planaria by dipping your net into the "infected" tank and then putting it into an otherwise clean tank. Just wanted to warn you.

water changes and salt . plenaria comes around when there is a lot of wast in your tank..
Planaria feed off excess food, not waste. And they're harmless BTW. You can do two things to get rid of them. Lots of w/c's and feed less; or do a treatment with a product that has copper in it. But be carefull with copper and do lots of researching on it if you do.........

my PRISTINE 20 g (4 baby indos, baby bgk, and columbian zebra pleco, dont flame there all destined for a bigger tank its called a growout...) developed it and I was wondering why as I pick up food as soon as it hits the bottom. now I know its because I used the same gravel vac.

Yes the eat food, not fish waste..........
Ok thanks, it'll be in issue in my bichir tank but I'll try to take out food after a few hours. In my PRISTINE 20 planted that developed it, do they eat plant matter? as that is an issue. The tank has baby dats that when i feed i take out leftover food when it hits the bottom to drop at the top again.

removing the substrate will greatly reduce them for this is where they are most highly concentrated
