haha y is it when we all get are first tank we dont cycle it, lol but do what cichlid savage said and you can also go to a pet store and ask for some gravel that has been in a tank that has been running for a few year that will seed the tank and make the cycle go a little fast

i quess that will be ok just clean it with fresh water and put it in your tank that will help with the cycle but do your water changes every week or every 4 days and the first thing that will happin when your tank cycles is the ammonia will rise then fall the the nitite will rise then fall then the nitrate will rise then fall then when all those are at 0 ppm your tank is cycled

well shouldnt i check the water each day, and if it gets so high, do a waterchange? (since i got fish in it?) im real confused now

and you will have high ammonia with 4 jacks in the tank but check the water params evert dat or 2 and if the ammonia is to high do a water change to lower it same with the nitrite, but the nitrate fish can handel as long as its not to high the best thing is to try and keep all your params at 0ppm, exept for PH that needs to be maybe from 7-8

if the level of ammonia gets to high do a water change maybe about 30% or more depending on how high the ammonia is

what do you call ammonia to high? and all the jd's are barely a inch, if that

if your confused go on google and look up aquarium cycling and read read read, that will help you if your confused

Certainly test your water with a liquid test kit but that said, you may be alright. You did jumpstart the cycle with BioSpira/safestart tetra and the JD's are tiny. So you quite possibly may be alright. Test your water everyday and feed lightly. I think you'll be fine.

i bought 4 test kits, 2 liquid, 2 pad thingys, i wasnt sure what i needed, but IM PREPARED TO KEEP ALL THESE ALIVE.ill do water change every hour if i need to, set alarm wake up :) oh and the 2 liquid test kits are 2 diff kind of master freshwater kits
