help me settle down my new giant gourami :L

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've just recently picked up a 4" gg in a barter and it immediately took over dominance of my 75 which also resides an 8" green sev and 8" chocolate cich. First day home and it came right up to the glass hoping for food.......no fear at all.

If you can try to get him in an upper tank...this might help. I noticed fish get more scared of movements above them then below. My pleco is more scared of me then my 5 year old daughter.

just give him time.
also, i think seeing people feet all day then being attacked my a random face every now and then may not help too much.

+1, you just got him so give it time. Also, fish tend to get to become more confident as they get larger. I think it is very rare for a fish to remain skiddish for the rest of its life, so just give it some time.

i was planning to add some bards or guppies but im afraid tht it might pollute the tank faster and i will have to make water change which only makes my gg more stress..
so yeaah, im giving some time for it and spending more time with it :)
i sit in front of the tank for half an hour or so and came with an idea to use worm to lure it up.. im not going to feed him for a few days so tht he would easily get attracted to the worms.. well, what fish cant resist a worm eh? haha

Barbs? What kinds? Known fin shredders especially tigers. I, as a rule, never mix tetras or barbs with any long finned fish
