Help me sex my Giant Betta

Hey, just got a Giant Betta that i think its a female becuase it fins arent all fancy like not sure. LFS Said he was a male i dont think so. Kinda diffrent from sexing a regular betta? if not then it has to be a female i would think. here some pics, going to try to breed with a fined betta and also another giant betta after i figure out what sec this one is thanks.

Hmm okay anyway to up his color? Am feeding high quality frozen blood worms. When I breed him with a short finned Betta how big will the fry be in the end?

Feed him specialized betta feed, this should help with his color. And yes, this is definately a male.

i have my doubts on it being a male, cause it got those horizontal lines on its side that shows when a female is ready to breed,but hey i wouldnt know, never owned a giant, but my friend had one and it had longer fins

That's a female, defiantly, especially if it has the horizontal breeding lines i've had various females of that color actually in the past, the bigger betta the older it is so don't be to upset if she starts to go downhill quicker than expected but feed her freeze dried blood worms make sure the tanks heated too they thrive so much better in warmer water best of luck

Males under stress can show the lines as well, especially with the short finned kinds. Look at gourami's. When under stress males will also don female colours. Both are labyrinth fish, so I wouldn't be surprised if male short fin betta's can show themselves in a female suit as well. However the belly fin in my opinion is too long for a female.
This does not change the feed tho!

So should I get more pics? I just fed him\her today. Been in the tank for about 1day now.if its a female then idk how I can I breed her lol as the male has to catch the female and squeeze the eggs out of her.
