I see what your saying but she's really aggresive she pushmy other fish out the tank she even ate one alive i had to take evry one else out until i get a bigger tank

Mine, too. It kicked a Firemouth's a** that it had been with for months, who was bigger than it. Even started whomping on a Convict, when they used to be completely inseperable... I had to remove it from my 125, and stick it in a 60 gallon. Dempseys do NOT play well with others.... If you want to get it a mate, I'd suggest making those the only two in the tank, along with maybe a hardy unobtrusive pleco, like a regular bristlenose.

They're *beautiful* fish, and I'd keep it.. You just need to learn to deal with it's aggression issues.. The issues only get larger, as they do. Personality wise, in the right set up, they're totally awesome, tho. Mine's named "Fluffy". :D

I know my pics are horrible but all i had was a camera phone i did the best i could

everyone hear is so helpful who knew that their were so many MFK that care I already luvu guys

yeah thats def a female, and @dissy some fish are harder to sex than others the OPs fish is one of those that is really easy to tell while yours is a bit more difficult, i would say yours is male by the body coloring but a better pic of its face would give more accurate guesses but unless you vent for a fish like yours it wont be 100% unless you just vent it or wait till its bigger but its most likely male

jack d's are easy to sex yours may or not be a female in my opinion its to small right not to tell. i have had several of them and you have to wait until about 5-6in to really know. but the most common way to know is that a male usually only has the blue markings on his gill plate(side of his face) while a female will have few markings on her gill plate and the bottom of her chin if you wanna call it that will be very rich with blue markings. but it also makes it hard because the examples that i just gave are what they should look like while they are calm and in a happy enviroment and with good gentic structure.
