Looks like a male to me too. This is my female if it helps. She still has a lot of side spangling but mostly denser on the lower half. She's also only 3.75" long now and has a lot more coloring up to do as she matures.

I'm pretty sure it's female. I had a male for ten years and it never had any markings on its cheek below its eye.
