jag's tend to go for the pellets if they are sinking ones . Make sure you smash them one at a time in the water to create the " live food effect " Don't feed him feeders for a week and he will take the pellets with no issues. Add a little bit of garlic guard on the pellets to make them extra stinky ! Jags also love nightcrawlers !

Yes, I'd switch him to a good pellet as a base asap. Maybe try a few and see what interests him most and then stick with it. He will definitely catch something off feeders eventually that will do him in.
Most definitely! My other cichlids really enjoy the tetra cichlid pellets and frozen bryne shrimp and bloodworms along with vegetables.

As the others have already mentioned getting him off the feeders is your main concern , try raw shrimp/prawn (blue in colour) they usually can't resist them even if you have to starve him for a couple of days , once he's taking them start stuffing pellets into the chunks of prawn to get him used to the taste and texture if pellets

I've got him to eat a few pellets hear and their but I think y'all are right I should keep him off the feeder fish completely and he'd be more open to other Variety's of food

Definitely at the min he knows a feeder will eventually come along if he plays the waiting game , you need to win at that game and offer nothing but what you want him to eat eventually survival instinct will kick in and he'll eat te food ;):D
