So out of nowhere I picked up a 29 with an ac70 and stand for next to nothing. I didn't really want a tank of this size but my fish loving instincts couldn't say no.

I transferred some media to the tank, added safestart and I have a couple danio's in it right now. The tank has been up and running for a week and the water parameters are stable.

I've decided that this will be a non-monster tank. I know this is a foreign concept to most of us here , self included so I could use some suggestions for stocking it.

One of the first fish I ever had was an opaline gourami so I'm thinking I want to put one in here. Planting it is out of the question as I'm currently fighting algae in my 10 gallon planted tank.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what else would be cool to put in here?

lava rock.
java fern
driftwood
shark, albino or reg. red tail
loaches
school of tetras - lemon or bleeding heart or red-eye, what ever.
cory cats
bushynosed pleco

add a canister and another AC70.

my 2 cents.

German blue rams, apistogrammas, electric blue jack dempsy, electric blue rams, Atya shrimp, bamboo shrimp, red cherry shrimp, oto cats, nerite snails, freshwater flounders, bumblee bee gobys...

thats whats in my 29 gallon tank...

How are the freshwater flounder I've never seen them. Isn't a 29 a bit cramped for an ebjd? Bumblebee gobies need brackish water as well.

I have a similar set laying around. Was for goldfish, but they were a mess. Thinking about starting an all-tetra tank myself.

tetras or other non aggressive species may work fine or some small cichlid pairs such convicts or rams or other small sized species

i have a custom 40g wide hex tank with feeder fishes :) my own feeder farm.
looks nice in the living room and saves money lol
