Help me stock a 29 community tank

Interesting ideas. I might get a pair of rams and I'm currently looking at a bunch of different tetras as I've never had tetras.

Also looking into kilifish I saw a couple of really colorful ones on livaquaria. Anyone have experience with them and give me a little info on their temperment or any suggested species?

Rams would go great with tetras.

Kilifish? Never kept them. Having said that, I so rarely see them in an mixed community setting. I think they may have their own special set of care requirements.

The one tetra that I've always had in my community tanks is a pair of Congo Tetras, I don't know why i like them so much but they are one of my favorite tetras and they stay fairly small.

Alright I picked up a couple fish tonight, but no tetras. I ended up picking up a pair of beautiful ram's and 4 zebra botia loaches. This is my first time with loaches, should I add some more?

Go with the opaline gourami, the first tropical fish that I got that got me in to this part of the hobby last july was an OP gourami, and he lived through my unresearched stupidity, went through the cycling of two tanks unbeknownst to me, lived through it all, and never grew more than a half an inch. He still always ate great, never showed signs of illness, and would use his little feelers on my arms while doing water changes. Sadly, I left the lid up yesterday and the little guy jumped out while I wasn't around. Great Fish, he will be missed.
