Interesting: I have had zero issues with mine in 3+ years. The thing I like about the Marinelands is that unlike the Eheim Classics, where it is one single cylinder into which you must stuff all your layers of media, the ML's have stacked trays, so I can fill one whole tray with carbon pellets, for example, and set it to rinse while I am servicing another tray.
I don't dislike the Eheims, the ML's are just faster and meet my needs better. I still have (and use) two Eheim classics that I have had for 5+ years and they do the job fine but if I were ever to need another can, it would be an ML. Just my 2-cents.
