Help me! Virus!

That is a virus I recently had to dump and reload this computer to get rid of. I got it, as near as I can tell, from a site that listed metronidazole a a search word, I was not paying to much attention doing an info search and clicked on a site that just listed several unrelated words in alphabetical order.
It started as a warning that my computer was infected with malware, when I tried to clear it the damn thing kept getting worse and when I tried to purge it I got a data storm of every pop up around then the computer tried to freeze up. I dumped it and rebooted from disk.

Hey guppy, I think thats what happened to me, it said someting about malware, so i should just google remove spyware? I know nothing about rebooting from disk, this is my sisters laptop and she doesnt use it anymore.
wish i knew how to do that i somehow got a virus too.. its just a matter of time till my computer goes kaput
I have the initial boot disks for this computer so I just reloaded everything from scratch, you lose everything you have saved though, I was 1/2 way through the final chapter of the game Throne of Baal, dammit. If you have a good antivirus program it might beable to cure your machine without this. Becareful about antispy ware you find free on the web, some of it actually infects your computer even worse to try and make you buy a product. This computer contains nothing important so if needed I can just start over. The other computer, that is used for bills and such alternates Macafee and Norton antivirus scans every otherday.
should if the virus software is aware of that virus. Usually once you install it it'll download any updates (ie: new virus definitions). Good luck!
