help me with my guitar amp!

Mismatching the Ohm rating could have potential long-term use damage, but won't hurt it a bit to test it. Just don't go jamming if it starts working. LOL

Could be an issue with a connection in the back. First off.... look for any loose wires in the back, especially those that go to the speaker or the amp. I agree that is could be the input jack as well. Do you get any noise at all when inserting or removing the plug?
My thoughts Exactaly.. Try The Back Wires.. Soemtimes They Come Loose From The Vibrations.. Happened To Me 1 Time.....

i have already wiggled the wires around and still no sound at all from the speaker. plus, the wires are soldered on, so i doubt thats the problem

I would just stick to reverse troubleshooting it and work from the speaker back! Usually on something like this, that is the best way to do it. But yes, I wouldn't turn it up much at all when you tap another speaker into it. He is right in that only if it's left in long term will it actually do some damage, but most speakers are standard 8 or 4 ohms. Keep us posted on what you find out!
