Help me write my final paper for class

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Why not add something about the knucklehead that puts Ca American cichlids with Africans, regarding diet and water chemistry.

You can write a few page report on some of the most basic misconceptions of fishkeeping in general.. which would both be easy for non-keepers to understand. And be informative. immo tossing in the nitrogen cycle is a great idea.. i know my bio-teacher back in HS was fairly amazed at my knowledge regurading it.

Not saying that some of the advice at petsmart/petco is bad, but it's not all bad. More importantly, do you think the CEO and other higher ups consider the fishes life? No, its a corporate business that's concerned about money. The breakdown of business and stock predictions, forecasts, profit/loss centers are what theyre worried about, and as long as there are idiots out there willing to buy their products because they're cheaper, they will always be around.

Hit on the mistakes passive fish keepers make:

Mixing fish that have no business living together
Ignoring growth rates and minimum requirements
Following bad advice from chain stores and WalMart
Not understanding the importance of water changes
Releasing non-native fish in local waters
Etc, etc, etc

If you wanted, and went into enough detail, you could right a 5 pg report on the nitrogen cycle and the steps taken to cycle a healthy tank. If you have to write a paper, I would suggest that you pick one topic and break it down into detail rather than hitting on 5 topics. I'm not sure at what level this course is being taken, but if I were a professor and read a paper on Wal-Mart, Petco, Petsmart, nitrogen cycle and different requirements for different fish, I would either think that you were too lazy to do the correct amount of research, or you somehow slipped through the cracks and should be in 5th grade.

I like the idea about mistakes made in the hobby. That would be one topic that can contain alot of info from other topics. would be a great read

Choose a topic and and concentrate on it. You can't squeeze all these diverse issues into a 7-pages long essay; however, you can and should choose subtopics. Let's say that you're going to focus on the nitrogen cycle. An intro would cover the basics of nitrogen chemisty in water. Your subtopics might then be 1) how to do establish it properly in aquaria, 2) how hobbyists fall short of the ideal, 3) how pet shops fall short of the ideal. The conclusion might be about how all humans are evil and deserve to live in filthy, overcrowded tanks themselves. (Okay, maybe a different conclusion.)
