I have a 5" fire eel that went down a under grale filter now i have turn off it. so now how do i get him OUT?! :nilly: :help2:

lol, sorry but thats kinda funny.. I'm sure mine would if I used an undergravel in his tank... by nature they burry themselves.. so it shouldn't surprize you. Just turning it off as long as he has an escape route open should encourage him to leave. as the O2 levels will depleate and force him out... BUt waiting coud also kill him if he decides to wait it out. If you regularly maintain your filter plates. You shouldn't have a problem lifting up a plate and extracting him. I had a spiney eel years ago w/ an undergravel and similar happened. undergravels and "eels" do not go together well. I'de suggest moveing him to a different tank that doens't have an undergravel or removeing the one in the tank he's in now depending on bio load ect. as it's bio filtration will see a crash and your water perameters will take a hit obviousely. Haveing another stable biological filter in place will help but you'll prolly see a spike. You could also try enticeing him out.. But there is no gurantee he will not get back under there later. adding more hide spots might help as well.. but not neccisarily.
